Once a image signal is connected a digitally controlled electric current flows through the flat screen, causing the plasma inside the designated bubbles to give off ultraviolet rays. Plasma TVs have problems with “Burn-in” or “Image Retention”

“Burn-in”, or “image retention”, is the result of damaged pixels. A pixel (short for picture element, using the common abbreviation "pix" for "picture") is a single point in a graphic image.
